About Me

'You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world and there is still going to be someone who hates peaches.” Dita Von Teese

Hello!  I'm Emma; Freelance Writer, Proud Mama to Daisy May, Knitter, Crafter, Upcycler, Author In The Making, Literature Fiend, Baker, Music-Lover, Homemaker, Barbara Good-wannabe, Vintage Hoarder AND Human-Conscious, Style-Loving Bargain-Hunter.  Now...how to fit that into one creative blog!

At 28, like a lot of people, my life took a complete turn and I found my life transformed from that of a London party girl, with a somewhat-jaded career in fashion retail and a sole purpose of blogging endlessly about drunken nights out and crying over boys at bus stops, to setting up home with my lovely partner, Will, in Nottingham and adjusting to the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Daisy in 2013.

Becoming a Mum has reinstated my lifelong passion for living a creative and homemade lifestyle.  I started writing Life is Peachy as a positive blog for new mums who were searching for the 'you' in Mummy.  Since its conception, Life is Peachy has become my little hub of creative homemade craft tutorials, original recipes, style posts, promoting small businesses and the art of living 'fabulously frugally'.

The last few months have been extremely good to me, I've loved adjusting to my role as a Mum to my lovely girl and putting my own quirky stamp on this new and exciting lifestyle.  I've been fortunate to meet some wonderful people and bloggers, have started to sell some of my handmade crafts and I have been lucky enough to have some of my work published, as I head into the world of freelance writing!  I am also really excited about the new Twitter hour I run on Tuesday evenings 7-8pm for craft bloggers and lovers of craft - I would love you to join us using the #CraftBlogClub hashtag!

I hope you continue to read and enjoy Life is Peachy, I'm continuing to evolve, have coined my Modern Gothic Librarian style, am always creating and concocting new recipes and craft ideas and I am starting to research and write more about my interest in sourcing ethical clothing and learning to live sustainably.  All this and I've even finally dusted off my draft for my first fiction novel and am beavering away on it whenever I can!  I'm really excited for Life is Peachy and the road ahead and I hope you'll join me along the way!

I found your blog when I was googling to see if my old blog was still around. I stayed to look as we have the same name! I like it :)
